Do I need council approval?

Often, yes. We guide you through all town planning requirements and represent you during permit processes.

Do I need a building permit?

Often, yes. We engaged with trusted private building surveyors early to ensure a smooth and coordinated design process leading to quicker building permits, happier builders and relaxed clients.

What happens in the Initial Consultation?

This is our first chance to listen deeply. We’ll discuss your vision, site, budget, and goals. You’ll gain clarity on what’s possible, and we’ll outline the likely next steps. Think of it as laying the foundation for a productive and inspiring design journey.

What's a Feasibility Study?

In some cases, especially for complex sites, undefined budgets or projects with layered planning considerations, a Feasibility Study may be recommended as a first step. Offered on a fixed-fee basis, this study allows us to investigate key factors such as planning controls, site constraints, design potential, and construction viability before a full project scope is defined. It provides clarity for both client and architect, ensuring we can offer a tailored, transparent fee proposal aligned with your ambitions, budget, and site realities.

Do you only work on large or public projects?

No - our passion is great design in all forms. While we have deep experience in large-scale public work, we also love working on bespoke homes, creative commercial spaces, and sensory-focused environments of all kinds. Every project gets our full care and attention.

Do you offer interior design and finishes selection?

Yes. Our architecture and interiors are fully integrated. We provide finishes schedules, furniture and equipment layouts, and joinery design; always with an eye toward sound, texture, light, and atmosphere.

How do I know if my budget is realistic?

Early in the process, we’ll work with you to review your budget against your goals and align design ideas with your budget. At key milestones, we’ll recommend engaging a qualified Quantity Surveyor or builder to provide formal cost plans, helping the project stay on track and avoid surprises.

Do you have insurance?

Of course! We carry Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance. We can gladly provide Certificates of Currency.

What client-architect agreements do you use?

For residential and smaller commercial projects, we follow the procedure outlined by the Australian Institute of Architects (AIA) as set out in the AIA Client Architect Agreement (CAA). This will be supplied to you for execution along with a fee proposal prior to the commencement of any work. Schedule A_ Scope of Services in the CAA outlines the exact Inclusions, Exclusions and Additional Services. These are uniquely tailored for each bespoke project.
